Pastor Dr. Wayne P. Snodgrass and Lady Evelyn Snodgrass Rev. Dr. Wayne P. Snodgrass has served as senior pastor of Progressive Union Missionary Baptist Church since 1986 (which is the longest pastorate in the history of the congregation). In an effort to strengthen the membership, Rev.Snodgrass has implemented a strong Christian education program. As a result, there are five Bible studies conducted weekly, new Sunday School classes added yearly, and baptisms witnessed monthly. In 2006, the church completed a new sanctuary to seat over 1,200.

In addition to being Pastor of Progressive Union, Rev. Snodgrass is: Academic Dean at Huntsville Bible College; Instructor in the Progressive National Baptist Convention(PNBC); Education Dean of the Southern Region of the PNBC; Past-Moderator of the Flint River Association; Past-Chairman and member of the City of Huntsville Human Relations Commission; a member of Xi Omicron Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; and a former police chaplain for the City of Huntsville.

He is married to the former Evelyn Schumake. They have one adult son, Israel, and three grandchildren, Ashriel, Christylle, and Isaiah.
